Litter is not just a problem in Stanway, it is an ongoing problem across the whole Borough. Looking around Stanway and Colchester as a whole, it is obvious there is an urgent need to invest in new public waste recycling bins, allowing people additional means to recycle, reducing the litter dropped on our streets.

Each time our team invests in a litter pick for Stanway, two possibly three bags of litter are collected in just a short amount of time. We are out there doing our bit to help keep the village tidy and thank others who give their time to do the same.

However, I would ask anyone who thinks it’s acceptable to throw rubbish out of the car window or to drop rubbish on the ground, to please consider their actions. I would ask them to stop and think about how they can help keep their own town clean and tidy.
