After the response from NEPP (North Essex Parking Partnership) (see here) I have today started a petition to support the increased zig-zag safety zones outside Fiveways Primary School, Colchester.
Please take a moment to sign your name to the petition. Without the support of the local community, we wont be able to proceed to the submission stage.
Everyday our children are put at risk by drivers parking on double yellow lines outside of our schools. Their children run across the road, quite often nearly being hit by on-coming traffic.
This happens outside our own school, Fiveways Primary School every morning and afternoon and the situation is not going to improve.
Residents have now had enough of the constant battle to keep the entrance to their driveways clear.
Before the final decision is made to double the pupil intake of Fiveways Primary School, we need to address local traffic management.
Many attempts over the years to ask parents to stop parking on double yellow lines or in the bus stop opposite the school have gone ignored.
We now need to begin the process of improving this dangerous situation so we may protect our children in the future.
Please take a moment and sign this petition. It will be used in evidence to support the need to place additional safety yellow zig-zag lines on the opposite side of the road, opposite Fiveways Primary School, to ensure drivers are no longer able to park in the restricted areas.
